BOOK AN APPOINTMENT
In order for a Pilot or an Air Traffic Controller to exercise the privileges of their licence, they must hold a current medical certificate issued by a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME).

DAME located in the Sutherland Shire

At Oak Road Family Practice, our very own Dr Andrew Morris is a certified DAME and can provide you with an aviation medical examination and certificate.

What an aviation medical certificate covers

  • details of the class of medical certificate held
  • the validity dates
  • if the applicant fails to meet the medical standard
  • restrictions imposed on the medical certificate
  • surveillance required.

First time flyers

If you are starting out, there are no medical requirements for learning to fly, if with a flight instructor. However, if you are concerned about your medical history or current conditions, we suggest discussing with your flying school or contact us to make an appointment with Dr Andrew Morris to review your situation.

Commercial and private flyers

For all other commercial and private flyers, make an appointment with Dr Andrew Morris and he can discuss the most appropriate medical certificate for your situation. It is recommended to obtain your medical certificate prior to paying for any aviation training.
